Adventure Style Machines!

UPDATE 9/25/2009

So, it's that time of year again, and this years PB300 is going to be the best ever. Two days of challenging yet fun, big bike friendly, sand and gravel roads that are in great shape due to rain and cool temps.

Saturdays route is about 175 miles and will take all day, so get an early start. You'll need it, to make it to"Rocky's Big Bike Enduro Route". A 10 mile section of firecuts, single track and a real "stick farm" thats rideable on GS class machines. From there the route sets south on a brand new section through Wharton Forest, and back to the Hotel.

The dinner on Saturday will have some great food and presentations, don't miss it. This year we've make up some fleece vests with the PB300 logo thats perfect for fall riding.

Sunday's route is 125 miles and designed to finish earlier. It starts out with a brand new fun section, exits the woods and passes the Hedger House, the classic Biker Bar,and then back into the woods. It finishes up with a great new section as well.

Check back soon for more info!! It's all coming together !

Here's a few pic's from "Rocky's Big Bike Enduro Route". We tested it out with a GS1200, a V-Strom 1000 and an HP2.

Here's the latest info on the ride:

The Pine Barrens 300 will take place October 10th and 11th and will start and finish both days at the Hammonton Inn, RT 30, Hammonton New Jersey. The PB300 as it's called, is a GPS guided "Off-Road Adventure Tour" of the Pine Barren's for street legal Adventure style motorcycles. The "Route" will consist of Woods Roads and Jeep Trails, in and around the State Forests and Wildlife Management Area's.

The purpose of the PB300 is to provide an event thats rideable for larger off road machines and riders. It is the only event laid out just for the Big Bikes, BMW GS1200's and KTM 950's for example. No Trail Bikes or Two Strokes will be allowed to enter.

AMA membership, license, registration, insurance and inspection are required. The event will be limited to 125 entrants and 25 club or support riders. A few club members and support riders may be on smaller machines, however.

There will be a tech inspection, to check that the machine is 100% street legal. A decal will be issued to those who pass this inspection. This sticker will allow you to access the Wildlife Management Areas and State Parks and serve as permit to enter the event.

The PB300 is designed to be enjoyed by experienced riders, as the course will consist of woods roads with whoops, deep sand, and mud . Appx 10% of the route will be on pavement. DOT Knobby Tires are required. Support vehicles will be roving the route with tools, gas, air and first aid for emergencies. Gas stops and Lunch choices will be on the Route's. You must be able to go at least 80 miles between gas stops. There are no Route Sheets or Arrows to follow, only the GPS Route to guide you. There will be a GPS school on Friday night, and a Dinner on Saturday. Riders without a GPS will ride with groups.

It is not a "Dual Sport" event, which is typically a trail ride hosted and laid out by an enduro club, for enduro type riders and machines.  The events start each day at 8:00 AM and all riders should be out by 9:00 AM.
