2007 Pine Barrens 500

October 12,13 & 14

The Pine Barrens 500, also know as the PB500 is a GPS guided Adventure Ride, a multi-day, mostly off-road motorcycle tour of the New Jersey's Pine Barrens. It's hard to define exactly what an adventure ride is, but for this one, I am talking about a journey with larger bikes, going longer distances, for multiple days. The route is about 500 ground miles and is navigated by GPS. There is no route sheet or arrows to follow, only the GPS route to guide you. The course travels the sand and gravel fire access roads of the state parks and wildlife management area's.

The route will bring you thru Brendan Byrne, Wharton, Bass River and Penn and Belleplain state forests as well as Greenwood, Tuckahoe, Forked River Makepeace and Heislerville Wildlife Management Areas. Sections of the route will be challenging , 8 to 10 mile deep sand, whooped out jeep trails, depending on the weather, there may be deep watercrossings, flooded or muddy woods roads. All the woods roads and jeep trails are "roads" and are 100% legal to ride on. Your bike must be 100% street legal to ride this event, no exceptions. A tech inspection will determine if your bike is OK. State inspection is a must.

Four Enduro clubs are working with each other to bring this event together. The Pine Barons Enduro Riders are sanctioning the ride with the AMA, Meteor MC, The Tri-County Sportsmen MC and MCI are contributing sections from their Dual Sport rides and Enduros, as well as support. Chase vehicles will be roving the route with tools, gas, air and first aid for emergency's.

There will be gas stops about every 75 miles and a lunch stop each day. The route is designed for experienced riders and will be doable on BMW GS class machines and KTM 950's . There will be go arounds and hero sections for keep the event interesting for the 400's and 650 cc machines.
